SURVIVE OR BE SUNK IN SKATEBOARDING COMPETITION

WHERE: USS North Carolina – Wilmington, NC
WHAT: The USS North Carolina Battleship transforms into a skatepark as Red Bull Battleship comes aboard the historical World War II vessel on December 13, 2008. In an entirely new tournament-style skate competition format, eight teams of skaters will vie for battleship supremacy while trying to avoid being sunk.
WHO: Teams from eight regional skate shops will begin by competing head-to-head and will select two of their three riders to skate in a judged three-minute jam. The combined judged score total for the riders of each team will determine which rosters advance within the “survival†bracket and which are relegated to the “sunk†bracket. The tournament concludes with the final teams from each bracket competing in the Red Bull Battleship championship.
